About PanyamCements
PanyamCements is a small, independent, advertising-supported site built around six free calculators for concrete and masonry work. This page is a walk through what each one actually does, so you know exactly what you’re getting before you use it.
Figuring out how much concrete you need
Two tools sit at the start of most jobs. The Concrete Volume Calculator takes the dimensions of a slab, footing, or column and returns the volume in cubic feet, cubic yards, and cubic metres, with a 10% waste allowance built in for ordering. Once you know the volume, the Concrete Bag Calculator converts it into a bag count — 40, 60, or 80 lb bags of pre-mixed concrete — adding a 5% waste allowance and rounding up to whole bags, because a supplier won’t sell you a fraction of one.
Getting the mix right
If you’re batching concrete from raw materials rather than buying pre-mixed bags, the Concrete Mix Ratio Calculator breaks a given volume down into cement, sand, and aggregate quantities for whatever mix ratio you specify (1:2:4, 1:1.5:3, and so on). It applies a dry-volume factor to account for the volume lost when dry materials are mixed with water, and converts the cement portion into a bag count so you know how many bags of cement to buy alongside the sand and aggregate.
Reinforcement and masonry
Slabs that carry load need rebar, and the Rebar Calculator estimates the number of reinforcing bars and total bar length for a two-way slab mat from the slab dimensions, bar spacing, and edge clearance you enter. For walls, the Block & Brick Calculator works out how many concrete blocks or bricks a wall needs from its length and height, using the unit’s face area including a mortar joint, plus a wastage allowance for cuts and breakage.
Pricing the job
Last is the Slab Cost Calculator, which estimates the total cost of a concrete slab from its dimensions and the unit prices you enter for ready-mix concrete, labor, and formwork, broken down by line item and totalled. It’s a planning number, not a quote — your actual price will depend on your supplier, your local labor rates, and site access.

Every tool on this site runs standard, widely published construction formulas and unit conversions — the kind found in concrete-estimating references and building handbooks — with explicit waste and dry-volume allowances rather than hidden fudge factors.
